31 Things I Did In March

14:00

Another exciting month of things. It's crazy how fast time passes. I feel like this month had a lot going on. :)

  1. Made pancakes from scratch for the first time in my life. It went okay. Made them a few more times after that and am slowly getting better. I'll be a domestic goddess in no time lol.
  2. Updated my dream suite on Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the first time in forever. When I updated my game for the amiibo update my dream address got removed. Had to create a new one and I wanted my town to look great. Come visit!
  3. Became obsessed with the Hillywood Show's parody of Suicide Squad. I love all their parodies they are so amazing. I discovered them through their Twilight parodies. I definitely recommend you check them out.
  4. Caught a Pikachu with a party hat on Pokemon Go. I love when they have themed Pikachus. They're really cute.
  5. Cried at the Vampire Diaries finale. Hard. The show ending was something I was just not prepared for. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I am still really sad that it's over but I am also really glad the ending was good. If the ending wasn't good then I feel like the last 8 years would have been wasted.
  6. Got tickets to see Steps in November with my sisters. I used to love them when I was younger. Who didn't love them?
  7. Had a week off from uni and spent a majority of it playing Sims and Animal Crossing. My two true loves. It was great.
  8. Talked to an old Animal Crossing friend for the first time in a long time. We've known each other about 3 years. So weird. But also really great.
  9. Caught up with my friend to talk about her ENGAGEMENT. I still feel too young for such a thing to happen but yes, that's happening. I am so happy for my friend, the wedding won't be for a few years yet there's still no time like the present to get excited!
  10. Was surprised by my boyfriend as he came over to surprise me. It was just something simple as showing up at my house because I hadn't seen him in a while. It was a great surprise. We cuddled and watched TV and it was wonderful.
  11. Rewatched my KCon videos for the 100th time. Sometimes I get sad or bored and I like to remember that time. It was such a fun time with one of my best friends. I hope we can go again.
  12. Cried at Nashville because they know how to pull at the heart strings. Rayna passing away was so emotional but the way the show has been handling it has been great. Though part of me will always wish it hadn't happened.
  13. Got excited that McDonald's Monopoly is back again. I have never won anything super fantastic from it but I still have fun. Plus, who doesn't love an excuse to go to McDonald's more than normal lol?
  14. Made chocolate Rice Krispie buns on a whim with my boyfriend. My flatmates were appreciative of the treats. :P
  15. Started watching Project Runway, I like it. I love fashion things and I know RuPaul's Drag Race was partly inspired by this show so I decided to give it a go. They only have two seasons on Netflix and I've watched them already so looking for something else to watch now.
  16. Was outraged when Mondo didn't win Season 8 of Project Runway. Can you believe they chose Gretchen?
  17. Started to struggle with Korean. It's a busy semester, I have a lot of uni work to be doing so I don't focus on Korean as much because I am not being graded on it. Definitely a step up from level 1. Don't know how well I will hold up as weeks go on but I am remaining hopeful.
  18. Went to see Beauty and the Beast. It was a really great movie, I enjoyed it. Although I felt like Emma Watson was lacking something as Belle.
  19. Studied a lot of one test. It was not the most fun thing in the world but I feel it took up a majority of my time this month, so there was that.
  20. Spent St Patrick's Day sober, spent time playing Animal Crossing and Sims instead - the story of my life haha. Still a really great day though.
  21. Spent the afternoon with The Sim Supply and Conflict Nerd at their impromptu Belfast Meetup. They are really nice guys. And they are the first YouTubers I have ever met so that's cool.
  22. Finished my first ever essay for uni. As a computing student we don't tend to write essays, we write code. So to say it was a challenge was something else.
  23. Filmed a video to go along with my essay. It was a group thing and I have never filmed something with other people in the room so it was kind of awkward but I made it through and we made a complete video so, that's an accomplishment.
  24. Went shopping and actually got some cute dresses for work placement. You can never have too many dresses.
  25. Enjoyed the little bit of sunny weather we had and went to play mini golf with my boyfriend. He likes to say he won but I think I did. We don't tend to keep score so who really knows...
  26. Freaked out about who the returning drag queen would be on RuPaul's Drag Race. My heart will always hope for Shangela to come back. But I did love Cynthia, so it's good to see her again!
  27. Built my own house on the Sims 4 because why not? I feel like everyone tries to make their own house at least one time playing the game.
  28. Watched iJustine compete on Chopped. I discovered Chopped when flicking through channels one day, I got really into it even though cooking competitions aren't really my thing haha. But when I found out Justine was going to be on it I was super excited. It's sad she didn't make it past the appetiser round but I believe she will go one to cook some great things.
  29. Decided to cancel my Glossybox subscription because I wasn't really using the products. It had been a great treat over the past year but sometimes you can have too many beauty products and it seems like a waste. Especially when you aren't using them.
  30. Had a weird time adjusting to the clocks going forward. I was just playing my DS, looked at the clock on my wall that said 2, but my phone said 3, I was super confused for a minute lol.
  31. Rewatched all of DaveDays old music videos about his Miley Cyrus cardboard cut out. These were some of the first videos I ever watched on YouTube and I loved them a lot. And DaveDays even got to meet Miley Cyrus because of the videos. So great.
There we have it. 31 Things I did in March. In case you haven't noticed, sometimes I do have random little things in these lists so I actually get 31 things. I try to always keep note of the big things, but I know big eventful things don't always happen. And if they did, they wouldn't be a big event would they?
Anyway, that's it for another month. We still have 9 months to go. So crazy.
But on the bright side, only a month or two left of university and then summer break, and then my venture into the real working world. Ooh. Scary yet exciting times ahead! I'm excited to share the journey with you.

Cinema Tickets and Selfies | Pages 169, 178 & 183 | The Pointless Book 2

16:00

Hey guys!
Today I am bringing you another Pointless Book 2 blog post, this time we are rating movies and taking selfies. Productive.
As always if you guys wanna check out the video it will be below:

The first page I did was page 163, which asks us to stick in cinema tickets and rate the movie. Luckily for me, I'm a huge cinema ticket hoarder. I started my cinema ticket collection in 2011. I just love movies. So for this page I decided to choose movies that I had seen more than once, because then it would be okay to part with the cinema ticket. This is what my page looked like below:

So the cinema tickets are bigger than the page in the book, so I have to fold them when I close the book but that's okay. The movies I chose were Breaking Dawn Part 1, New Year's Eve, Fifty Shades of Grey, Jurassic World and Fantastic Four. I haven't actually seen Fantastic Four more than once but it was my most recent cinema ticket so I added that too.
My ratings were:
  • Breaking Dawn - 5 stars - I love Twilight with a passion and saw this movie four times in the cinema. I'm a Twihard through and through.
  • New Year's Eve - 4 stars - I thought this was cute. I mean it had a lot of actors in it that I liked and the story was fun and I liked Valentine's Day so this was similar.
  • Fifty Shades of Grey - 3 stars - Y'all know all my thoughts about Fifty Shades, if you wanna check out the blog post where I talked about it, it's here
  • Jurassic World - 4 stars - Surprisingly thought it was good even though it was about dinosaurs. However Chris Pratt totally swayed me.
  • Fantastic Four - 2 stars - Definitely not one of my favourites. Plus it was a remake and the last half of the movie was cliche and boring.

So those were my movie reviews, as you guys can see I'm easily impressed at the cinema haha. As long as I don't fall asleep during the movie I usually consider the movie fine.
The next page that I did was page 178 which was basically just to take a selfie with the Pointless Book and the Pointless Book 2 so here are some of my fabulous selfies:

And finally the last page I did was page 183, which was basically just colouring in but I still wanted to do it because who doesn't love colouring in?

And so that brings us to the end of another Pointless Book 2 blog post. I hope that you guys liked it, and if you guys wanna check out more of my Pointless Book 2 videos you can click the link to the playlist here.

Inside Out Review

23:07

Hey guys,
So my friends and I have just come home from seeing Inside Out and I have to say I really enjoyed it.

Before I talk about the actual movie, I do have to talk about the short film that showed before it. Mainly because I thought it was really weird. So with Disney movies now they usually come with a short film before the actual film starts and this one...this one I didn't like...
The short film is about a volcano that is looking for love, and he sings, which is very Disney of them to have a volcano sing. I just thought it was really weird and at one point I thought they were going to make it so the volcano never found love which is not the Disney way. Luckily the volcano does fall in love, with another volcano that was under the sea but somehow was able to use lava to get above sea level to be with the other volcano. I don't know.
It was just very strange, and I know that Disney short films are usually about some kind of inanimate object finding love - I mean I did watch one about umbrellas finding love once - this one I didn't enjoy very much. To me, it was just weird.
Anyway, onto the actual movie. So this movie is about the emotions inside of us and how they make us feel things. In particular this movie deals with five emotions inside the head of an 11-year-old girl. Those emotions are Joy, Fear, Anger, Sadness and Disgust.
Joy is the emotion that is mainly in charge and even has a special glow to her, which shows that this child is a very happy child and has had a very good life with a lot of happy memories. However things start to go wrong when Sadness comes into the picture, because when Sadness touches a memory, it turns from a happy memory to a sad memory and Joy doesn't know how to change it back into a happy memory.
Which is not good, especially when Sadness tries to touch one of the girl's core memories. According to the movie, core memories are each linked with a part of our personality and is part of who we are. So if Sadness were to touch one of those memories things would not be good.
Unfortunately Sadness doesn't understand and so Joy tries to stop Sadness from touching the core memories, this results in the core memories being removed from where they are held and being sent to "long term memory" along with all the other memories, as well as Joy and Sadness going with them.
The movie then follows Joy and Sadness as they try to navigate their way back to the headquarters of the girl's mind as well as shows how Disgust, Anger, and Fear deal with the girl's emotions while Joy is not in charge.
I thought that it was a really interesting movie because it showed us in very simple terms how the mind works. I mean in a way it does help you better understand how we feel the things we feel...but I'm not saying there are little characters in our head telling us how to feel. But in some ways it did make sense.
I mean yes, memories and experiences definitely contribute to your personality and memories go to your long term memory or are completely forgotten and the movie shows us that in a colourful way.
The movie also taught us that it's okay to be sad sometimes and we don't always have to be happy. Which I think is a good lesson to learn like it's okay to cry. And in the movie, Joy tends to always see Sadness as a burden and that her changing memories was a bad thing, but then she learns that being sad can sometimes be a good thing because it allows good things to happen after the bad.
And you know it wouldn't be a Disney movie unless it taught you something.
So while Joy and Sadness are trying to make their way back to the headquarters with the core memories, the other emotions try to take charge of the little girl's emotions and things tend to go from bad to worse as the things that make up her personality have disappeared with the core memories and she becomes very angry (mostly because Anger was in charge a lot).
The girl had just moved house and was in a new place so obviously she was going to be annoyed at this and because Joy wasn't there to put a positive spin on the girl's emotions she ended up being very angry and upset.
Towards the end of the movie I almost thought the girl was going to hit depression because the last of her personality 'islands' were crumbling and the control panel the characters used to control her emotions went grey. It was kind of dark for a Disney movie I thought, I mean when the control panel went grey the characters couldn't do anything and so her emotions were basically non-existent...
Luckily that didn't happen because that's when Joy and Sadness came back and Joy realised that the girl needed to be sad right now and it was okay to cry.
The movie ended with the characters in her head realising that the memories they created didn't just have to be one emotion they could be multiple such as a happy and sad memory. And so things ended up happily ever after as every good Disney movie does.
And so overall I thought it was a really good movie, and it definitely gets emotional about halfway through...I mean who knew that losing an imaginary friend would be so sad?
I would definitely recommend this movie for anyone though because I think that it's a really interesting movie and if you've ever wanted to know what goes on in people's minds it's a really fun way to learn. I mean, who doesn't want to know how the mind of an 11 year old girl works?

Movie Review

Unfriended

17:09

So yesterday afternoon me and my friends went to see Unfriended. It was our leavers day and while everyone else went out to party we went to see a horror movie in the middle of the afternoon. The perks of this are that there was no one else in the cinema so that was good because we definitely talked/screamed during this movie haha.

So if you don't know what the movie is about, it's about five friends who are having a Skype chat that get interrupted by a spirit of their former friend Laura Barns. Laura was a girl who committed suicide due to a video of her being posted online in a passed out drunken state and everyone bullying her.
During the course of the night, the spirit of Laura gets her friends to turn against each other and admit some pretty horrifying things and one by one they are killed off.
The movie actually looked really good from the trailer and in this society the social media platform was a perfect way to go. Some of my friends said they are now terrified of going on Skype...
I on the other hand...I'm not scared by it.
I mean overall I thought the movie was okay...I didn't really think it was that scary and I feel like there was so much left that was unexplained.
My main thought through the movie was...this girl, the main character Blaire does not know how to use a computer...I mean at one point one of the other characters actually yells "GOD BLAIRE DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO USE A FUCKING COMPUTER" And I laughed because honestly...that would be me.
I suppose when you are being threatened and you are trying to get rid of, what you think is a virus, on your computer it's understandable that it can be hard to do some things but I don't know, it really irritated me.
Plus her Spotify stopped playing after one song every time and it made me wonder if that is even a thing that can happen, and how can you even listen to Spotify and talk to your friends at the same time? I couldn't.
This blog post is probably just going to be a list of things that annoy me, but it did annoy me.
Another thing that I noticed was that Blaire was very annoying when it came to messaging her boyfriend Mitch. He didn't reply right away and she kept messaging him over and over again and me and my friends were like... "Girl, calm down, give him time to reply."
Also everytime Mitch did reply the iMessage thing never changed Blaire's messages to "read" it always said "delivered" and that made us think she wasn't even messaging Mitch and that it was really the spirit of Laura. Plus you can sometimes see Mitch's webcam screen in the window below the messaging one and you can clearly see Mitch is not typing. I mean that could just be an editing mistake, but it annoyed me because I couldn't tell if that's the way it was meant to be or not.
Another thing is that it said Blaire and Laura had only been Facebook friends since like February which makes no sense because wouldn't they have known each other much longer? It indicates that they had because of photos of when they were younger...
Oh and I'd love to know what Saturday Night Live, Miley Cyrus thing is 12 GB because that was another thing that I noticed haha.
Also, Instagram comments don't have a notification sound when they are posted...that also bugged me, but I think they put the sound into put more emphasis on them.
Other than the technical errors of the movie - I swear that regular people who don't use the computer as much as me probably wouldn't care about these things haha - the movie wasn't that bad.
However, it did remind me a little bit of "A" from Pretty Little Liars. Mainly because "A" is this anonymous person who the girls originally think is Alison but it's not. I mean it's similar in that the characters all have secrets and this person is out to expose them... That or I just watch too much PLL.
Plus I thought it was a little creepy that Blaire gets turned on by her boyfriend threatening her with a knife. There's just something completely wrong about that.
Not to mention I really wanna know who Ashley Dane is and why the characters were so mean to her. Me and my friends want a sequel about Ashley Dane haha. I mean during the "never have I ever game" they brought her up and it was like...WHO IS ASHLEY DANE? I mean whoever she is I feel bad for her.
Also, it was so funny when Blaire said it was an "accident" that she slept with Mitch's best friend Adam. Plus it was Adam's birthday? Like how is that meant to make Mitch forgive either of them? It was really funny, even though they were all about to die...
Oh and can we please talk about how unrealistic that chat roulette scene was...people on chat roulette hardly believe anything and I don't think they'd call the police for you. At least from my chat roulette experiences I know a lot of people just think you're joking or skip past you. I mean there are some nice people out there who you can talk to which is nice but like I said, it's rare that you'd find someone who would believe you were being attacked by something online...
I also can't believe Blaire sold out all her friends in the end...I mean really. She got Adam killed by showing a note she wasn't meant to, she told Laura's spirit Mitch posted the video and in the end she was the one who really started it all. Although it was obvious from the video a girl filmed it because of the hair...
If anything we all wished that Blaire was left alive to live with the fact she killed her four friends and Laura.
So yeah, I think that's everything I have to say about the movie. I mean I guess I was just sort of being mean about everything and I disliked the movie, but I think I was expecting a lot more. I mean I did think it was entertaining to watch and with my friends comments it made it a lot more enjoyable, but I think it's one of those movies I could only ever watch once.
As for being scared of using Skype...I'm not. I mean if anything this movie teaches you not to be a total bitch and post videos online and tell people to kill themselves. Which is something that should be taught anyway.
So moral of the story is: don't tell people to kill themselves, don't post degrading videos of people online and take responsibility if you do mess up on the internet. Because I've been there, I think we all have and yes it will come back to haunt you. So just be careful.
Other than that don't be afraid of the internet because it can actually be a really useful and fun place. You just have to make sure you are using it the right way. :)
