The Pointless Book

Wordsearch and Nail Polish! | Pages 43 and 104 | The Pointless Book

23:07

Hello all!
Another Pointless Book blog post! This one is probably not very exciting though. However I did like doing these pages. It was just something nice to do for the night.
If you guys want to check out the video it is below, and also more detailed looks at the pages I did:

So the first page was the wordsearch, which there isn't much to I mean it's a wordsearch. I suppose I could have easily just cheated and looked at the solutions page but where would the fun have been in that? Instead I did the whole thing myself, even timed it. It took me roughly six minutes, I'd say that was in good time.

The next page was to use some old nail varnish to paint the page and i had quite a lot of old nail varnish to choose from. I didn't really know what else to do with the page but I decided that the neatest way to do it was to just paint lines across the page, plus I didn't know how much nail polish was still in the bottles, they were just old colours I never used anymore.

All of the colours I used...
The final result!

And there you have it, another Pointless Book blog post done and dusted. I hope you guys enjoyed. If not, that's cool. I mainly do these things for myself anyway, it's a result of having too much free time. But anyway, I'll be back soon with another blog post, hopefully something more interesting next time. x

TV

Orange is the New Black

23:21

Hello world,
Yet another TV show that has taken over my life. Yay. This happens a lot.

I caved with Orange is the New Black about two weeks ago. Netflix had recently released season three and it's the only thing anyone on the internet was talking about. So I caved...
Honestly though, it was a good choice. This show is interesting. I wasn't sure how to feel about it at the start though, mainly because I wasn't used to the style of show, plus all I really wanted to know from the first episode was why Piper was going to prison and it took half the episode to show us what she did. So I didn't really think I would stick with it. On top of that we got thrust into a whole world of new characters and it took me so long to learn their names, and I'm pretty sure I still don't know half of them.
Either way, the characters are interesting and are all so different and I am so glad because that way it does make it a little easier to tell the difference between them. It's like you might not remember their name, but you remember what they did on the show.
So the whole prison setting is new to me, I don't typically watch shows about prison but this is a good one, not to mention it's a women's prison which means that it is pretty bitchy and I love that. I am always up for a good show about bitchy drama; that's why I loved Gossip Girl so much.
Anyway, I have just finished watching the third season after two weeks of binge-watching the show and so I have a lot of thoughts on it. Hence, why I'm making a blog post.
I don't think I want to go into a lot of detail with this because otherwise I'll be here forever, but I want to share with you some thoughts I had on the characters and the show in general while I was watching it. And because I don't want this blog post to be mega long and boring I am just going to bullet point it, so I hope you enjoy my thoughts on Orange is the New Black:

  • Piper is really annoying. I don't like her.
  • Alex is...okay. I don't like her a lot either.
  • Also, do we think Alex is dead? Because she wasn't in season 3 as much I probably wouldn't miss her a lot...
  • I miss Nicky, why did they have to take her to MAX?
  • I also wish Tricia had lived...
  • "Crazy Eyes" was just misunderstood this whole time and I am so glad we get to see who she really is now.
  • Thank God Mendez went to prison
  • What happened to Bennett?
  • I don't think Morello's marriage is going to last...it seems kind of shady
  • I'm so glad Pennsatucky stopped preaching God. I also feel bad for her about the way she was brought up
  • Red is one of my favourite characters. I ship her with Healy.
  • I sometimes feel bad for Healy...but only sometimes because he can be a dick when he wants to be
  • Caputo is confusing, I so wanted to like him, but I really don't think I can
  • I am happy for Polly and Larry
  • I guess Piper's family don't care as much as they used to because they never visit anymore
  • She also stopped calling them
  • Also so glad Piper stopped getting special treatment - like can you not
  • Do not understand everyone's obsession with Ruby Rose
  • Kind of shipped Taystee and Poussey briefly
  • Vee was a straight up psycho and I was glad she got killed
  • Rosa definitely had the best exit from the show
  • I get that Soso was annoying but I'm glad she was accepted into Taystee's group
  • I really didn't like when Red lost her kitchen job
  • I hope that Daya's baby is going to be okay
  • Boo and Pennsatucky's friendship is cute
  • I kind of miss the scenes in the laundry room/electrical for some reason
  • I find it really random they are getting prisoners to sew panties now...
  • The whole Norma-worship thing was pretty weird
  • All of the new guards suck
  • I don't want new inmates it took me long enough to learn about the current inmates
  • Caputo and Fig sleeping together is so creepy
  • I'm so glad there weren't as many graphic scenes as I thought
  • Luschek is one of my favourite C.O.s
  • I think Piper is gonna regret that infinity tattoo
  • I got emotional watching everyone in the lake
  • What are they going to do to everyone who went to the lake?
  • Sofia needs to be brought out of the SHU like right now
  • I hate the MCC - why must they be a thing
  • When is season four?
And there you have it, most of my thoughts on Orange is the New Black! I know I am missing loads but I think that covered a lot of ground.
I don't know how everyone else feels about the show but the general vibe I get is that everyone loves it, and now I know why. If you haven't watched the show I do suggest you try it out. I can see why it wouldn't be for everyone though, since it's on Netflix and not on live TV it can be pretty graphic at times and you might find it offensive at times but for the most part it's great.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts, maybe you guys can relate to some of them. I don't know. Please feel free to leave a comment below letting me know your favourite character and why. I feel like that could be interesting because there are so many characters. And I will see you guys soon with a new blog post, probably about another TV show that has taken over my life...who knows...

❤️ #LoveWins ❤️

20:43

Just thought I'd post a quick blog post to celebrate marriage equality in America.
My Twitter timeline has just been an explosion of love and it's such an amazing thing to see. It's literally such a heartwarming thing.
It makes me want to go out and party or something to celebrate and I don't even live in America, nor am I gay. But still it's a huge thing that I think should be celebrated no matter what.
Because at the end of the day, love is love, whether it's been two people of the same gender or two different genders it doesn't matter. We should embrace it.

❤️❤️❤️
YouTube posted this video today about celebrating marriage equality and LGBT month and it is the cutest thing and I even teared up at it omg, I love it. #ProudToLove

❤️❤️❤️
Also I thought I would share with you some of my favourite tweets, because it has been such a love-filled day:

The Pointless Book

Origami, Makeup, Shapes and my Hand! | Pages 11, 21, 38 and 126 | The Pointless Book

00:51

But I have to say that this one was a lot of fun.
So this time when I filmed my Pointless Book video I did it a little differently. And I think the new way that I do it is a lot more efficient. It also helps that I have a tripod now and a lot more free time on my hands.
If you want to see the video you can check it out below, and as always there are more detailed photos shown here in the blog post.

The first thing I wanted to tackle was the origami on page 11. I knew from the second I saw it that I was going to mess up. We get two pages for this, one with the square of paper that we need to cut out to make the swan and one with the instructions on it. Seems simple right?
P1000021P1000022
Not exactly. This is what mine turned out like…
P1000033
It really could have been better. I kind of got lost somewhere in the middle of the instructions. To me, they aren’t that clear. I feel like I need to have written instructions as well. Although let’s be real, I’d have probably been better off with a YouTube tutorial…
On the bright side I seemed to do better on the next page. Which was to draw makeup on the person. This was something I thought I would be good at, considering I have been doing my own makeup since about the age of 13 I think I know a thing or two about it.
P1000024P1000035
So, what do you think? I think it was pretty good. I don’t know if the lighting in the photo shows it off the best but I did what I could. Also if I had better pens or something like chalk I probably would have contoured and all of that haha but I didn’t so I just had to leave the person looking pretty pale, but I still think it looks good anyway.

P1000039

The next page that I decided to do was the one where you had to draw shapes without taking your pen off the page. This one was…okay. I mean there wasn’t really much of a challenge to it, at first I thought that there would be but you just have to think about it for a second before you draw it. Nothing too terrible.

P1000043

The final page I did in the video was to draw around my own hand. Nothing special about it haha. I could have been really artistic with it and added more details rather than just doing the outline of my hand but I am not the best artist in the world so decided to give that a miss.

That was it for this Pointless Book blog post. Now that it’s summer I can do a lot more of these videos/blog posts and hopefully I can finish the Pointless Book before the end of summer. I also have to start on the Pointless Book 2 so look out for that.
In the meantime, if you guys want to check out my previous Pointless Book videos the playlist is here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS-A2-2r_dIQex17WjQJbqXUXVh1k2ugm
I’d appreciate it a lot if you spent the time to check them out. But other than that I hope you guys enjoyed and I will see you soon with a new blog post. Smile

Book Review

The History of my Insanity Book Review

19:08

Hey guys,
Here I am reviewing another YouTuber book. Surprise, surprise. This time it is The History of my Insanity by Trisha Paytas. Something that I think is worth noting about Trisha's book is that it is self-published and it was written in 2013. So as you can see she was way ahead of this YouTuber book writing craze.

I have only been watching Trisha's videos for a year but she has quickly become one of my favourite people to watch. I don't know what it is about her that makes her so interesting to me, but she's just one of those people I could watch forever and not get bored. She's been through a lot of tough things in life and for her to come out the other end pretty sane is incredible to me.
If you guys watch YouTube then you know that a lot of YouTubers have been through a lot of problems in their lives, and we like to watch them because we find them relatable. They are real people and aren't afraid to show us they have flaws - which is why I think they are so popular. But I have to say, no one's been through as much as Trisha - at least no one I watch.
Trisha's story has always been an interesting one to me. I mean most YouTubers have interesting lives - otherwise we wouldn't watch them - but Trisha has definitely been one that's stood out. If you guys have watched her Draw My Life video then you kind of get a feel of what her life used to be like.
However, I think she tells the story a lot better in her book.
What I would say about the book is that it is an easy read. It's very casually written in Trisha's personal style and it's a short book. It shouldn't have taken me as long to read as it did, but I just didn't read it very often.
If anything this book makes you have a new found respect for Trisha. I know that a lot of people don't like her and people online just seem to be rude to her and hate on her for no reason. They somehow think that because of her past choices in life that she is beneath them.
But after reading about what she went through and how she was able to bounce back from everything that life threw at her, I admire her a lot. I mean she never gave up on her dreams and she never let anyone tell her that she couldn't do it and that's how she got to where she is today.
If anything she is inspiring.
I mean I'm not saying she's perfect. But she has made some drastic improvements on her life and I am so proud of her for that. I mean reading about how she used to live and seeing her succeed in her life now is amazing. I like that in her book she was so open about everything and it was raw and it was real.
I also love that it was a self-published book. Mainly because I know that it didn't go through a team of editors and a publishing company that probably would have wanted it to be changed. I liked that it was just Trisha's words.
Maybe this blog post should be retitled to "Praise for Trisha Paytas" because honestly I just love her so much.
I don't really know what I can say about the book other than I think it's a good read. It's definitely one of those books I think you need to read if you want to know more about the person behind the camera. Because Trisha has always been such a strong person when it came to her online presence, but you can see she wasn't always like that. I think it's important to know more about people who share their lives with us because it reminds you that they are people too.
I said something similar when I was reviewing Shane's book but I think it's important to remember that while these people may be playing characters online they are real people who have gone through real problems in life. And when they share those with us in videos we shouldn't be acting like they are making it up for attention because they're not.
I know that Trisha is someone who is known for being overdramatic and crazy, but that's just her character. And so when she talks about real things I feel like people don't take her seriously and don't see her for the person she really is.
I think this book captured exactly who she is, or rather who she was. It's very clear to me that Trisha is not the same person she was when she wrote this book. If anything she has grown stronger and has become an even better version of herself. I think that she is amazing because she continues to work on herself and improve and she's fulfilling her dreams.
I mean if you guys have been watching her videos for a long time then I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I have definitely seen a lot of change with Trisha since I started to watch her videos and I couldn't be happier for her.
So in conclusion I just wanna say I love Trish. I think she's so inspiring and you should definitely pick up her book because it really does help you understand who she is more and it gives you a better sense of who she is. I will also probably be picking up more of her books because she has written quite a few and so I'm excited to read those in the future.
And so that concludes another (sort of) book review! I hope you guys enjoyed...and if you like them then please look out for my next book review because I still have plenty more YouTuber books to read. :)

Exam Stress and Leaving School

21:19

Hey, guys, just a little blog post about life.
So as you know, it's exam season and that is always stressful. It might not be on the same level of stress for everyone, but it definitely gets a little stressful.
And I was definitely feeling stress this year. This was my last year at secondary school and these exams had to count for something and so of course you want to do well. Especially since these exams are what are standing between you and getting into university. It's a scary thought.
However, the only way to get through it is to push yourself. Work hard and get the results that you want. And I definitely think that I did my best. There's nothing else you can do.
Which I know, makes me sound like such a teacher but it's true. If I didn't work hard I definitely would not have the grades that I do. Like my mock grades gave me such confidence about the real thing and that's because I worked hard for it.
So I'm just hoping that the real thing goes just as well.
We don't find out our exam results until August so we have some time to wait which sucks sometimes because it's not exactly something you want to be worrying about over summer. But the truth is, as soon as I walk out of the exam room I don't think about it anymore. And I think that's how everyone should be.
My whole approach to exams is that you need to stop worrying about the exam the night before. Like, set a time to revise to and then stop and go to bed or do something to take your mind off of it. Because otherwise you just won't sleep and lack of sleep is not good before an exam.
I know that sometimes you think you'll forget something if you stop revising it and I have had the same worry but honestly, when I've stopped revising for the night and then go back to it the next day, I've found that I still remember most, if not everything that I learnt the day before. Your brain needs to take a break.
So you rest and then you go to the exam. By that point, there's nothing extra you can do which is when I just stop worrying. Like, I take my seat in the exam room, take the exam and don't worry about it after. Like you have done all that you can and now you just have to let it be whatever it is.
I don't think there's any point stressing about something that you can't change. The only time you can change it is any time right up until before the exam. Like you either know it or you don't and so you just sort of have to go with it.
Which sounds like I have such a laid back approach to exams but I think it's so much easier to be this way. I might be a total mess up until the exam, but as soon as I'm in the hall I'm pretty calm. I think you just need to let the stress out of your system before the actual exam. And you just need to find a way to do that.
I mean, I guess everyone is different and if you have a way to cope with exams that works for you then that's good. But this is just how I feel about it.
You work hard, you take the exam and then you can finally breathe because it's all over.
Which is finally what I can do now. I  have finally finished all my exams and it means I can just breathe and start my summer.
This summer also marks me leaving school. As in...I'm going to go to university. And that...that is scary and exciting.
I mean I've been at school for 14 years of my life and I am looking forward to being in a new environment. I am kind of glad that I will no longer have to wear a uniform, even though the stress of trying to figure out what to wear every day will be something I have to think about when the time comes. But I am looking forward to meeting new people and just having that "university experience".
It is sort of weird to think I won't be going to school anymore though. I mean I know I'll miss it. I will miss the classes that I had and I will miss some teachers, and of course I will miss my friends. It'll be strange to think they will all be somewhere else in September. They will all be in different places in the UK. Which I guess isn't that bad because they are still going to be close but not that close.
I know I'll keep in touch with them though. If anything I know that I made some really good friends the past few years and I do plan to keep them. I mean if anything I'm really glad that I made good friends. I think that it's really important to surround yourself with good people, it really helps you to have someone out there that is going through what you are too.
And I suppose it'll be the same when I go to university. We will all be a bunch of freshmen who have no idea what is coming haha. But I am looking forward to it.
As scared as I am I know I won't be the only one and that it'll take a while to settle in but it'll be okay. I mean it's just the next step in life and it's something everyone has to go through eventually. Whether you are going to university or going into a job or whatever you chose to do after school...it's scary.
But I do think we should embrace it.
So while I am sad that this part of my life is ending I am happy that a new part is starting. Adulthood.
Haha, that's a scary thought.
I am not even ready to be an adult. But I guess that's just something I have to take one day at a time.
I mean if I've learned anything it's that no one really knows how to be a perfect adult, we are all just learning as we go along.
So if anything you just have to go with the flow. And at the end of the day don't take life too seriously. Just enjoy it for what it is.
I wasn't expecting this to get so deep, but it ended up being that way haha.
I can't help it, I think when you are going through a big change like this it really does just give you a lot of time to reflect.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed reading. And I hope that you come back for my next blog post, I am planning to do one talking about my overall secondary school experience. Which I think will be a blast haha.

Pretty Little Liars

Game On, Charles - Pretty Little Liars Season 6 Premiere

17:55

Speechless.
Literally how I felt at the end of this PLL episode.
I don't think I've ever felt this way about an episode. This was the most intense one yet.
And I have so many feelings that I don't know how to express them properly. And I have so many questions that I need answered.
I just don't know.
But one thing's for sure, we are in for one hell of a ride this season. It's going to be more than we have ever experienced before.
If you guys want to see my initial reaction check the video below:

I don't think I will film my reaction to every episode but for the mid-season finale and things like that maybe. Sometimes I watch these things before my friends and need to discuss them with someone and I can't so I need to get my feelings out there in other ways.
In other news, I have no theories about this season. I have no way of knowing what's going to come and what we will find out about Charles. I just have a hunch it's not Andrew. Okay, I know why everyone would think Andrew is Charles but I don't think so. He is part of it though, I don't know what part but we can't act like he's totally innocent.
I just want to know everything. But I know we are not going to get another episode where Alison comes back and tells us everything we need to know like before. Charles isn't just going to sit and talk to us and tell us his life story....
If anything, it's going to be one hell of a summer and I hope you're ready because I know I am (not)!
